Life Around the Circle
A community isn't created by putting people in the same building. It grows through all the small ways their lives begin to overlap.
- A morning conversation at drop-off.
- Rehearsals running slightly longer than expected.
- A parent watching their child explain weeks of work at a Learning Journey.
- House teams shouting from opposite ends of a field.
- Teachers and families sitting around the same table.
- A child performing on stage for the first time.
- An older student helping someone younger.
STUDENT LIFE
A place to find your people.
Children need opportunities to discover who they are outside a lesson too.
Across VLC, student life gives them different ways to participate: through sport, performance, creative work, house activities, projects, leadership opportunities, celebrations and the everyday responsibilities of being part of a school.
Some children find themselves on a stage.
Some on a field.
Some while making something with their hands.
Some through an idea they convince other people to get behind.
Because belonging doesn't look the same for everyone.
Four Houses. A little friendly rivalry. A lot of belonging.
House life brings students across grades together in a community of their own.
Throughout the year, houses meet through sport, challenges, performances, creative competitions and shared experiences that ask students to participate, contribute and occasionally get very invested in which colour is winning.
But underneath the points and cheering is something more valuable.
Students learn to be part of a team, to show up for other people and to contribute even when they aren't the person standing at the front.

And sometimes, the Circle begins before school does.
Our parent-toddler programme gives children aged 1–3 and their grown-ups a first taste of VLC through Stories, Nature, Art and Play.
Come for the books, paint, movement and tiny discoveries.
Stay because somewhere between snack time and “again!”, you might find your own little community too.
